The following are the duties of the Register of Deeds office:
- Recording of - Deeds, Mortgages, Mortgage Assignments, Mortgage Releases, Easements, Rights-of-Way, Federal and State tax liens, plats, surveys, Oil and Gas Leases, Patents, Power of Attorney, documents related to corporations, Death Certificates, inheritance tax filings, affidavits, UCC filings and numerous miscellaneous documents.
- The 911 Coordinator position consists of assigning house numbers, updating mapping, assigning Emergency Service Numbers, coordinating correct responding agencies and coordinating replacement of road signs.
- Custodians of the old school records which assist individuals.
- All the school geneaology records in our computer system for easy access.
