HOW TO LIST PERSONAL PROPERTY
Personal Property is listed on the Personal Property Rendition Form. Rendition Forms are mailed out January 1. If you do not receive a rendition form, and have personal property to list, you can either come to the County Appraisers Office and fill out a new form or print out a form from the FORMS list below and mail or fax it to our office. All rendition forms need to be signed & dated on the appropriate line (BY: OWNER, BY: OTHER, BY: PREPARER) after the items are correctly listed.

EXISTING ITEMS
The table on the cover page shows examples of the kind of items to list. Items that are listed in the taxpayers name will be on pages after the cover page.
If the item(s) are correctly listed, sign the cover page and return the entire rendition to the County Appraisers Office.
If an item has been listed incorrectly mark the corrections.
If an item has been sold or disposed of mark it out. Also make a note of when it was sold and who it was sold to. Some items can be prorated, but without a date of sale we can not prorate them.
If your boat has been sold please notify the Appraisers Office & the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). Our office receives a list of boats that are registered with them and adds boats from the list that we do not have in our system. Boats accidently get added back on the tax roll that were removed because the owner had not notified the KDWP. To remove a boat from their list the owner must cancel their registration or correct their county of record in writing. This can be done by mail, email, or fax. Forms are available in the Appraisers Office, or online by clicking here, or at the bottom of this page in the Forms section. You can also click on the this link to be directed to the KDWP website. The following is contact information to have your boat registration canceled with the KDWP:
Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks Operations Office 512 SE 25th Ave., Pratt, KS 67124

VALUING PERSONAL PROPERTY
Personal Property is valued based on a Personal Property Guide published by the Kansas Department of Revenue Property Valuation Division (PVD). This guide directs the County Appraiser's Offices, throughout the state, how to value personal property. PVD also publishes a Personal Property Summary that is more directed at helping taxpayers understand personal property taxation. More personal property information can also be found in the personal property section of PVD's website, or by visiting your local County Appraiser's Office.
